Information by the environmental organisation iSea

In terms of students’ education on environmental issues, on Tuesday, 20 May, representatives of the environmental organisation iSea visited Mandoulides Schools and informed junior high school students about the issue of waste, its consequences on the aquatic ecosystems, sea life and health of humans, as well as about appropriate practices for the reduction of waste through reuse and conscious consumer choices.

Our students exhibited great interest and conversed with the organization members about the issues that concerned them, posing their questions and mentioning their concerns. Through this dialogue, the objective was for the students to become more sensitized, to understand the consequences of pollution caused by plastic and the concept of microplastics, as well as to adopt positive practices of waste reduction through the abstinence from the use of disposable plastic.

The educative material that was used during the information session has been created in relation to the informative campaign about the pollution caused by plastic and microplastics in the Greek seas. #zeroplastic.

During the information session, all the preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19 were taken.
