As part of the completion of the literature program “Book Clubs,” organized this year by E. Mandoulides Schools in collaboration with “Vlassis” publications, the 7th and 8th grade students had the opportunity to meet online with author Mr. Vaggelis Iliopoulos on Friday, May 16. He is the writer of the book “My Cousin is a Shadow”. The students, having worked on excerpts from the book in class with their teachers and having already explored its content in depth, engaged in a live discussion with the author. They asked questions about the plot and characters, as well as broader themes addressed in his work, such as addiction, domestic violence, humanity, friendship, and altruism. Through a fruitful and constructive discussion, they shared emotions they experienced while reading the book, listened to the author’s concerns about the modern world, and expressed enthusiasm to meet him again in the future.
As part of the same program, on Thursday, May 8, the 10th grade students, who had studied the work “Stella Violanti” by G. Xenopoulos participated in an interactive program, focusing on the content of the book, as well as the life and literary career of the author.
