With enthusiasm and a positive spirit, another successful year of the innovative Noutree healthy eating program has concluded at E. Mandoulides Schools. This program, aimed at students of all grade levels, focuses on raising awareness about the importance of proper, balanced nutrition and seeks to cultivate healthy eating habits in children of all ages.
As the rates of childhood obesity have increased alarmingly in our country, modern schools are called upon to engage both students and parents on the topic of nutrition. In this context, during the past school year, E. Mandoulides Schools implemented the Noutree program, combining modern technology with expert advice and guidelines from renowned nutritionists. Additionally, the program offered parents access not only to the products their children consumed at school but also to information about their nutritional value and how well they meet their children’s dietary needs.
Thus, it was time to reward those students who made well-targeted nutritional choices during the 2023 – 2024 year. In the Elementary School, 1st-grader Konstantinos Paparizos (A3), won first prize, receiving a bicycle – a symbolic gift meant to inspire all students to understand the significant difference between simply eating and eating properly. For High-School, 7th-grader O. Petsagkourakis also won first prize, receiving a bicycle and CGM Sensor device, meant to monitor daily glucose levels.
Additionally, all A5 (1st-grade) students and A2 (7th-grade) were awarded healthy food products for their full participation in the program and smart nutritional choices during the 2023-2024 school year.,0
