Galacticus Prime, a team consisting of students M. Athanasiadis, S. Mavromatis, Ch. Sideri and A. Foka, took part in the Final of the National “Cansat” Space Competition, which was held from 18 to 21 April at the National Technical University of Athens.
As part of the European Space “Cansat” Competition, students are engaged in the construction of a satellite that will be launched with the ultimate purpose of comparing the conditions on the target planet with those on Earth. This satellite will bear customized sensors that collect and send the requested information in the form of numerical data. At a later stage, satellite measurements will be further processed to extract the most accurate “sustainability rate” on the studied planet.
