On Saturday, April 22, 1st-grade students participated in a special book presentation event at Konstantinidis Bookstore. As part of International Children’s Book Day, they celebrated children’s literature and the magic of storytelling through a rhythmic presentation based on the heartfelt fairy tale by Ioannis Glossopoulos “I Will Wait for You” (published by Dioptra).
The book introduces us to Orpheus, a young boy eagerly awaiting the arrival of his new brother or sister. Through his journey, children experience the emotions of anticipation and the value of family and sibling love.
Author and child psychologist Ioannis Glossopoulos brought the story to life with Orpheus’ puppet, original music, and dance, creating an interactive and captivating experience for both young and adult attendees.
The student’s participation turned the event into a lively celebration of children’s literature, echoing this year’s IBBY message for International Children’s Book Day: “Create pictures for my poem, and please feel free: these words belong to you, even though they come from me”.
With a love for books and creative expression, the children proved that stories come to life when shared from the heart!
