Dripping honey

When bees disappear from the Earth, humans will disappear in four years too,” said Albert Einstein. The 4th–grade students participate in the educational program Dripping Honey. Using the Environmental Studies lesson as a starting point – and after being introduced to the importance of healthy eating in Social Skills Labs – they explore the world of bees through experiential activities. They enjoy a picnic featuring honey, learn about the beehive, the honeycomb, and the honey production process. Finally, each class creates its own beehive, applying their mathematical knowledge of polygons in a Stream activity.
