Mandoulides Schools are now participating in the European educational program SHORE, which aims to enhance students’ understanding of aquatic ecosystems, raise awareness of the problems and threats they face, and promote experiential participation in various activities. The program is designed for secondary school students.
The school’s participation in SHORE took place on Friday, March 28, 2025, with an educational seminar held at the Theater of the Cultural Center, attended by 9th and 10th grade students.
The seminar was conducted in collaboration with the environmental organization iSea and the company Intergeo. More specifically, Mrs. O. Koukouvetsiou from iSea presented on Aquatic Waste, while Mrs. K. Davididou from Intergeo explained the fundamentals and key aspects of Wastewater Treatment. Using visual aids such as pictures, diagrams, statistical data, and real-world examples, the speakers presented their topics in a comprehensive, engaging, and age-appropriate manner, laying the groundwork for the continuation of the SHORE program. Moving forward, the Schools will continue their participation in SHORE through activities such as coastal clean-ups, educational seminars, with iSea as the primary partner, leveraging its extensive experience and active involvement in environmental initiatives.
About 250 students participated in the program.
