On December 6, 2025, the 7th Grade students participated in the 5th Panhellenic Conference on Three-Dimensional Design and Printing (ST3dM 3), organized by the EDIFET research team (Laboratory of Physics and Technology Education) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The students presented their original projects before an audience of students, teachers, and researchers from across Greece. Their creations impressed everyone, proving that innovation has no age. It is worth noting that their distinctions concern work they submitted to the related competition when they were 6th Grade students in Primary School.

2nd Prize – Team 3-D BOYS Gitsas Angelos, Katsimbris Alexandros, Kolios Christos, Papastergiou Georgios The team presented the project “Smart Floor: Generating Energy by Walking!”, proposing the installation of kinetic tiles that convert students’ footsteps into electrical energy. The proposal combines environmental awareness with technology, offering a sustainable solution for the school environment.

Distinction – Team PRO_3D_DESIGNERS Kirkorian Aristeidis, Ballas Antonios, Chytas Orestis-Fanis The students designed an intelligent classroom-organization solution with personal auxiliary desks for each student, which help organize books and materials, reduce clutter, and increase safety. They also proposed the use of a real-time electronic translator so that non-native speakers can participate equally in class—an idea that promotes inclusion and communication.

Participation in the conference provided students with valuable experiences in collaboration, public presentation, and creative thinking.

We warmly congratulate them for their imagination, effort, and vision for a smarter, more accessible, and more sustainable school.
