On the occasion of World Greek Language Day, the 3rd Grade students took part in a special online meeting with the 3rd Grade class of Fulham Bilingual Lycée Français de Gaulle in London.
The children collaborated on an exciting linguistic mission: they discovered Greek words that have “traveled” into other languages around the world and are still used today in everyday communication. Words such as democracy, theatre, music, and history showed the students that the Greek language is a living bridge of culture, knowledge, and communication.
This activity helped the children understand that the Greek language does not belong only to the past, but lives on, evolves, and continues to influence the world around us.
Through smiles, the exchange of ideas, and shared activities, the children realized that words can bring people, nations, and classrooms together, even when they are thousands of kilometers apart.
Because language has no borders… it has roots and wings
