Two Students Selected for Greece’s National Informatics Teams 2025

Lazaros Karageorgiou (11th grade) and Maria–Eleni Tsiopoulou (10th grade) competed in the Informatics Camp, which took place in Athens at the National Technical University of Athens from May  5 until May 9. They achieved high scores in the selection trials and will be part of Greece’s National Informatics Teams for the international competitions of 2025. 

More specifically, Lazaros Karageorgiou scoring a perfect 2000/2000 points will represent Greece at both the International Olympiad in Informatics 2025 and the International Balkan Olympiad in Informatics 2025. 

Maria–Eleni Tsiopoulou will represent Greece at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics 2025. 

It is worth noting Lazaros Karageorgiou’s exceptional track record, which includes many distinctions in national and international informatics competitions: 

  • Informatics Olympiad 2024 (ΙΟΙ): Member of the National Team  
  • Balkan Olympiad in Informatics 2024 (ΒΟΙ): Member of the National Team  
  • Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics 2023 (JBOI): Silver medal 
  • Balkan Olympiad in Informatics 2023 (BOI): Honorable mention 
  • European Junior Olympiad in Informatics 2023 (EJOI): Bronze medal 
  • European Junior Olympiad in Informatics 2022 (EJOI): Silver medal 
  • Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics 2022 (JBOI): Bronze medal 
  • Panhellenic Informatics Competition 2025: 1st place  
  • Panhellenic Informatics Competition 2024: 1st place  
  • Panhellenic Informatics Competition 2023: 1st place  

 

Respectively, Maria–Eleni Tsiopoulou has earned the following distinctions: 

  • European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics 2024 (EGOI), Honorable mention. 
  • European Junior Olympiad in Informatics 2024 (EJOI): Member of the National Team
