On the occasion of Water World Day and as part of the program “Thermaic Gulf: Clean Waters are Everyone’s Responsibility!” the 1st-grade students of our Schools took action! With creativity and awareness, they presented arguments and wrote original campaign spots for environmental protection.

Each child expressed their thoughts on protecting the Thermaic Gulf through painting, using their watercolor sketchbooks. Their drawings were photographed, and their voices were recorded, enthusiastically conveying their messages. Then, using the Stop motion technique, each class created a video that combines sound and images, showcasing the children’s unique creations.

According to Goal 14, “Life below Water” of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, seas and oceans play a crucial role in maintaining the planet’s balance. They regulate temperature, atmosphere, and climate while serving as essential sources of food and oxygen. Historically, they have also been vital channels for trade and transportation.

Careful management of this precious natural resource is key to a sustainable future. Our children, as tomorrow’s citizens, are called to take action in protecting our seas. Through their videos, they send us a powerful message:

“Let’s protect the Thermaic Gulf! The sea needs us!”
