“Life can be sweet… even without sugar!”

In a particularly creative way, the second-grade students celebrated World Diabetes Day. As part of the school’s nutrition program “I Eat Properly and Healthily”, the children were first informed by their teachers about what diabetes is, what symptoms this condition causes, and how it can be prevented.

They then took part in an original treasure hunt, specially designed around the characteristics of this disease. In a simple and understandable way, appropriate for their age, the students learned key concepts such as insulin, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and glucose. At the same time, they had the opportunity to recall the importance of a balanced and healthy diet in preventing such conditions and to convey these messages through their song “The Greedy Dragon”.

Once again, learning was combined with joy and play, proving that a modern school promotes experiential education and offers students the opportunity to learn in diverse and enjoyable ways.
