Educational Trips – Junior High and 10th and 11th grade
The educational trips for all three grades of Junior High School and for 10th and 11th grade students were successfully completed!
The students visited a variety of fascinating destinations, including the enchanting Pozar Thermal Baths, the bustling city of Volos, the beautiful city of Ioannina, the remote town of Alexandroupoli and the idyllic island of Corfu.
7th grade Educational Trip to Aridaia – Pozar Thermal Baths
The 7th grade trip took place in Aridaia and at the Pozar Thermal Baths. On Wednesday, April 9, the students gathered at school and, full of excitement, departed for their destination.
The first stop was Pella, where they visited the archaeological site and took a guided tour of the Pella Museum. They then arrived at their hotel near the Pozar Thermal Baths and, after lunch, enjoyed team games and sports in the area’s open spaces.
The following day, they explored the picturesque Pozar Baths area, went hiking through the nearby gorge, and visited a local cave. On the return trip, they made a stop to admire the iconic waterfalls of Edessa.
It was an unforgettable experience for everyone, filled with the best memories to kick off the Easter holidays!
8th grade Educational Trip to Volos
The 8th grade went on a trip to the magnificent areas of the Magnesia region, specifically Volos and the enchanting Pelion.
Upon their arrival in Volos, on Wednesday, April 9, the students toured and strolled through the scenic villages of Makrinitsa and Portaria.
After settling into their rooms, they took a walk along the coastal promenade of the city, enjoying the idyllic setting of this renowned area.
The following day, they visited the Athanasakio Archaeological Museum of Volos, one of the most important archaeological museums in Greece, featuring exhibits from many archaeological sites throughout Magnesia. On their return, they made a stop in Litochoro and visited the small chapel of Saint John. In the afternoon, the students returned to school, ready to begin their Easter holidays!
9th grade Educational Trip to Alexandroupolis
This year the 9th grade travelled to the border region of Thrace, with Alexandroupoli, as their main place of stay. On the first day, the students had the opportunity to tour the picturesque old town of Xanthi and then admire the unique landscape of Porto Lagos, with its small chapels adorning the tiny islands.
Next stop was the Art of Silk Museum of Soufli. While in Soufli, they also visited the local Fire Department, where the station commander gave students practical advice on how to respond in case of a fire or traffic accident.
On the third and final day, the return trip included a visit to the city of Komotini. There, the students explored the central parts of the town and had the opportunity to purchase the area’s famous local delicacies.
The trip ended the same afternoon, with the tired but cheerful students returning to school, where they were picked up by their parents. The Easter holidays had just begun!
10th grade Educational Trip to Ioannina
From April 9 to April 11, the 10th grade students of E. Mandoulides Schools went on a three-day educational trip to Ioannina. On the first day, the students and their accompanying teachers visited the Byzantine Museum and the Museum of Silversmithing. They also toured the castle of Ioannina and walked along the lakeside promenade of the city.
On the second day, the students, with their teachers, visited the Zagori villages. They toured the church of Saint Paraskevi in Monodendri and strolled along the traditional cobblestone streets of the village.
On the third and final day, the students visited the Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Wax Figures in Ioannina and then travelled to Metsovo, where they toured the Averoff Gallery.
The trip was a unique and unforgettable experience for all students and accompanying educators.
11th grade Educational Trip to Corfu
The 11th grade students of E. Mandoulides Schools enjoyed a four-day educational trip to the island of Corfu.
Corfu, justly considered one of Greece’s most popular destinations, impressed students and their accompanying teachers with its unparalleled beauty and remarkable landmarks.
The students walked through the old town of Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its narrow alleyways, the kantounia, charming squares, and the central Spianada Square, the largest in Greece, featuring the famous and historic Liston.
They admired the town’s unique architecture, the colors and scents of spring, and witnessed local customs associated with the beginning of Easter celebrations. In addition, they reached Corfu through a scenic journey filled with magical images of snow- covered Metsovo and the beautiful city of Ioannina.
It was truly one of the most memorable experiences for everyone!
