Events of E. Mandoulides Schools for World Restart a Heart Day (WRAH DAY)

On the occasion of World Restart a Heart Day (WRAH DAY), the humanitarian organization KIDS SAVE LIVES organized an event aimed at setting a national record for the simultaneous performance of CPR by students. At this event, a total of 20.039 students from 305 schools across Greece participated in this event.

Our school contributed in two ways:

  • With a physical presence at the main event organized by KIDS SAVE LIVES at Mediterranean Cosmos, represented by one 6th – grade class (ST2) and one 7th – grade class (GA2).
  • By hosting a parallel event at the Theater of the Cultural Center at our school, connected via WEBEX to join the simultaneous CPR activity.

The following activities took place at the Theater of the Cultural Center:

  • A video presentation demonstrating how an educated community can save lives using technology (isave lives app, AED).
  • A live demonstration of how to respond to a cardiac arrest, using a training defibrillator, performed by 11th – grade students, S. Kisoglou and A. Makedou.
  • A presentation on the CPR algorithm and the use of an automated external defibrillator.
  • Hands-on practice for students and teachers on CPR skills using training mannequins.
  • A connection via WEBEX for participation in the simultaneous CPR event, using both training mannequins and improvised models prepared by the students.

The presentation materials, training mannequins, and defibrillators were generously provided free of charge by the humanitarian organization KIDS SAVE LIVES.
