On Monday, May 19, the 8th and 9th grade students attended the second educational seminar, which took place in collaboration with the iSea Environmental Organization 

More specifically, Mrs. O. Koukouvetsiou, iSea’s Communications Officer, delivered a presentation focused on biodiversity, particularly in the Thermaic Gulf. The seminar, which took place as part of the “SHORE” program, aimed to inform and raise awareness among students about local biodiversity, the conservation status of cetacean populations in Greek seas, and the threats they face.   

The speaker discussed methods used to disseminate biodiversity knowledge and improve accessibility to such information, with the goal of supporting scientific research. At last, she emphasized that collaboration between scientists and citizens can enhance the effectiveness of research and contribute to the protection and maintenance of biodiversity.
