During the summer, students of the School had the opportunity to attend summer educational programs abroad. They enriched their knowledge in subjects aligned with their interests and talents, broadened their intellectual horizons, and met peers from around the world.
- Vasileiou (10th Grade)
Northeastern University, Internship at the Molecular Biology Lab of Bouvé College of Health Sciences Boston, MA, USA
“Participating in the Biology program at Northeastern University in Boston was a priceless life experience. Through experiments, theory came alive, and I became familiar with the lab environment and its rules. I engaged in microsurgical procedures and studied frog oocytes and mouse brain structures. This process not only expanded my knowledge in the sciences but also connected me with academic professors and students who inspired me.”
- Ch. Vasileiou (12th Grade)
Boston University, LaunchX – Boston Entrepreneurship Boston, MA, USA
“This summer I joined LaunchX, an entrepreneurship program hosted at Boston University, welcoming students from around the world. I was the only European participant, yet I led a team as CEO to launch a startup. Our idea was a sleep mask that improves sleep quality and duration using blue and red light technology. With guidance from professors and mentors, I learned how to build a business from scratch and generate revenue within a month. Out of 100 students (14% acceptance rate), our team won one of three awards: ‘Best Product Development.’ I also received the unique ‘Most Creative Award,’ given to only one student in the entire program.”
- Zachou (12th Grade)
University of Massachusetts Amherst, Summer Pre-College Program – Big Picture of Mathematics Amherst, MA, USA
“This summer I had the unique experience of attending the ‘Big Picture of Mathematics’ program at UMass Amherst. I explored a vibrant academic environment with lively libraries, green parks, and classrooms where equations sparked philosophical discussions. We were introduced to branches of mathematics not typically taught in high school – number theory, group theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and topology – revealing the beauty of university-level math. What moved me most was the emphasis on creative thinking: we didn’t memorize formulas; we created them. I collaborated with a professor on a small research project, experiencing firsthand how ideas evolve into new mathematical paths. Living the daily life of an American university student, even briefly, confirmed my dream to study where math meets freedom of thought and innovation.”
- S. Kouvelas (12th Grade)
Harvard University, Harvard Undergraduate Ventures – TECH Summer Program Online
“I participated in the Harvard Ventures TECH Summer Program, a six-week virtual experience where I collaborated on a startup project and spoke directly with CEOs of major companies like Netflix. Through workshops and lessons with Harvard professors and professionals, I explored innovation, strategy, and technology. The experience was intense but deeply enriching, connecting me with investors and entrepreneurs and inspiring me to pursue even more ambitious ideas.”
- D. Leventis (11th Grade)
Constructor University, Summer Camp – Computer Science & Algorithms Bremen, Germany
“I had a wonderful time at Constructor Summer School, attending courses on Algorithms and Complexity and Neural Networks and AI. The classes were highly engaging, and I gained valuable knowledge and practical skills. It was an unforgettable experience that helped me grow both academically and personally.”
- E. Makedou (11th Grade)
University of Oxford, Oxbridge – The Oxford Tradition Major: Medical Science | Minor: Biomedical Engineering Oxford, UK
“Participating in the Oxford Tradition summer program was not only unforgettable but also incredibly beneficial. I attended medical courses and engaged in hands-on activities, including suturing techniques and performing surgery on a real sheep’s heart. I also made lasting friendships with students from around the world – from Australia to America – and explored the historic city of Oxford, its landmarks, and its unique meadows.”
- D.-M. Marelas (12th Grade)
University of California, Summer Springboard – Pediatrics in Berkeley Berkeley, CA, USA
“I attended lectures on first aid and emergency response, practiced CPR and defibrillator use, and collaborated with students from various countries in medical simulations. I also explored the city and experienced campus life.”
- V. Bekiaris (10th Grade)
Harvard Student Agencies – Future Doctors’ Program Online
“Participating in Harvard’s program covering various Biology topics was extremely rewarding. Special emphasis was placed on cell structure, chromosomes, and RNA-based protein chains. The close collaboration with international students and team leaders created a positive environment that deepened my appreciation for the vital science of Biology.”
- Ch.-A. Samara (12th Grade)
Constructor University, Summer Camp – Computer Science & Algorithms Bremen, Germany
“This summer I attended a contractor camp where I took courses in Python programming and Economics and Investment. I built advanced Python projects, explored topics in microeconomics and investment, and received a Certificate of Excellence in both classes for outstanding performance.”
- S. Simara (11th Grade)
University of Oxford, Oxbridge – The Oxford Tradition Major: Global Business | Minor: Politics and Economics Oxford, UK
“During the program, we explored the fundamental principles of politics and economics and their interdependence. In politics, we studied various types of states and governments, as well as major political ideologies. In economics, we analyzed key concepts, international trade, and economic theories such as Keynesianism.”
- O. Chasiotis (10th Grade)
University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Wharton Global Youth Online Program – Moneyball: Training Camp Online
“The program helped me understand basic principles of statistics and mathematics and how they relate to sports. I learned many new and interesting concepts and collaborated with students worldwide to create a final presentation.”
