The 2nd-grade students celebrated World Diabetes Day in a unique way. As part of the school’s nutrition program,“I Eat Right and Healthy,” the childrenfirst learned from their teachers about diabetes, its warning symptoms, and ways to prevent it. They then participated in a special game, designed to reflect the characteristics of this condition. Through an age-appropriate approach, students were introduced tocomplexconcepts like insulin, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and glucose. They also revisited the importance of a healthy, balanceddietin preventingsuch illnesses. Once again, learning was combined with fun and play, reaffirming the idea that a modern school supports experiential learning and provides students with innovative ways to engage with new topics.
