On the anniversary of the liberation of Thessaloniki and the feast of the patron saint, St. Demetrius, Kindergarten students toured the city and saw its most important monuments. Their journey began at the castles of the city. They passed Portara and made their first stop at the church of St. Demetrius. There they saw up close the famous mosaics and the place of St. Demetrius’ imprisonment and martyrdom, while they also worshiped his holy relic. Then they visited Rotonda, Kamara and the symbol of our city, the White Tower.
