Book presentation with Eri Ritsou

On Saturday, December 2, the students of 1st Grade met Eri Ritsou at Ianos Bookstore to accompany her to the presentation of her book The Black Butterfly (Kedros Publishing). The children presented and recited a poem version of the book, moving both the writer and all the attendees. Then, after listening carefully to the wonderful story of the black butterfly, they talked with her in their own spontaneous and charming way about the various meanings of the fairytale, with which the author gave them food for thought. Diversity, racism, immigration, acceptance, mutual aid, collegiality, teamwork and, above all, love. Love has the power to change everything. On the occasion of motherly and paternal selfless love, she spoke about her father, poet Yannis Ritsos, and the poem that he dedicated to her when she was born.
