Children and Art in Kindergarten: Giuseppe Arcimboldo
In the framework of the educational program “Through the eyes of artists” which takes place throughout the school year, Kindergarten students became acquainted with the works of art of the Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, who is particularly well-known for painting portraits consisting of fruits, vegetables, flowers, birds and other items.
Our young students observed his works related to the 4 seasons of the year and paid special attention to the painting “Autumn,” while distinguishing the various elements comprising the portrait (fruits, vegetables, flowers).
They were impressed by his artistic style and decided to create a similar painting in order to decorate the Kindergarten premises, while using pictures of fruits and vegetables found in magazines.
