On the occasion of World Poetry Day, students and teachers of our Schools had the pleasure of reading their favorite poems at the event “Come and read your favorite poem!”, which took place on Thursday, 21st March at the Konstantinidis bookstore. On an emotional evening, the 11th Grade students A. Katrani, V. Papadopoulou, and M. Chondrou read their favorite poems by Odysseus Elitis, Yannis Ritsos, K.P. Kavafis, and their own poems as well. At the same time, E. Chasioti, a Mandoulides alumni, infused the event with her wonderful voice with poems by Nikos Gatsos, Odysseus Elitis, Yannis Theodorakis, Nikos Kavadias, and Yorgos Seferis. Finally, the teachers of the Schools F. Georgiou, E. Theodoridou, E. Balli, I. Nakou, and I. Rigas read poems by Nikos Kavadias, Nazim Hikmet, Tasos Leivaditis, Yannis Ritsos, and Bertolt Brecht, while the Deputy School Director Parisis Digtsis, read poems by Kostis Palamas and Titos Patrikios and the General Director of the Schools, Aspasia Chasioti, read a poem by Konstantina Siachami. The event was coordinated and presented by the author Theda Kaidoglou.
