Students of the 9th grade participated in the educational program “Learning not to smoke,” held in a specially designed space in the NOESIS Center (Science Centre and Technology Museum) in Thermi. This action is part of the larger project HEART II - The truth about smoking, which is organized by the Biomedical Research Foundation Academy of Athens (BRFAA), in collaboration with the Research Center for Smoking and Lung Cancer of the Greek Cancer Society. The program is aimed at the prevention of smoking and the promotion of students’ health of students through active and experiential learning. Students had the opportunity to learn about smoking as a habit, the mechanisms by which it is promoted, the damage caused and how to prevent or quit from it, and to ask questions or express their opinions on the subject.
