Visit to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN)

24 students of 10th and 11th Grade of the Schools participated in the annual visit to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland from 13 to 17 March, 2018.

The objective of the trip was the Large Hadron Collider, an enormous international research program of Particle Physics. The students, after being informed by Greek scientists working at CERN, were guided around the overground and underground facilities of the CMS detector in Cessy, France.

As part of the educational trip, visits were made to the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

At the same time, the students took a tour of the attractions of Lausanne, Montreux, and Annecy, and visited the Gruyères Castle and the historical center of Geneva.
