1st Grade at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art

Students of the 1st grade of mandoulides schools, looking at statues and learning about ancient macedonia

The students of 1st Grade visited the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art and took part in an educational program entitled “Alexandros Iolas”. They learned about the life of the renowned Greek gallerist and art collector and had the opportunity to admire some of the artwork in his collection.

The route the children followed within the museum was determined by a card game, which led to a different spot and a different work of art each time. At the end of this little journey, they made their own jigsaw puzzles, depicting works owned by Iolas, with the pieces they collected at each stop they had made.

The educational program was completed with the construction of Iolas’ suitcase, where they drew and put the pieces of art they were more impressed by.
