Author Makis Tsitas visits Kindergarten
As part of the “Book Partners” program, which helps develop a feeling of love for reading in Kindergarten, the students of Pre-Kindergarten read and analyzed the book “In front of the Television” by Makis Tsitas, with illustrations by Andriana Rousou (Psychogios Publications).
After reading the book with their parents at home and with their classmates in class, the children participated in a number of activities connected with the story. They did imaginative crafts, discussed the power of television and its use in our daily lives, and practised their oral discourse by playing both free and organized games in a “television corner” that we had put together in our classroom.
Finally, it was time for the author to visit our school. The little students of Pre-Kindergarten welcomed Mr. Tsitas to the Digital Room of the Elementary School, where they presented the story of the book in their own unique theatrical way and gave him an artwork that they had created themselves inspired by the fairy tale.
The author talked with the children about his idea behind writing this story as well as the meanings of the book. Finally, we heartily bid him farewell and promised to meet again in order to set off for new adventures!
