Mathematical Competition “Pythagoras”

Mathematical competition “Pythagoras”, organized by the Hellenic Mathematical Society (HMS), was held at Mandoulides Elementary on Saturday, 15 February, 2020.

A pilot phase was first introduced in schools of Attica for school year 2018 - 2019, while for school year 2019 - 2020 it was held in test centers throughout the country.

Students of 2nd to 9th Grade who wanted to experience mathematics regardless of their performance took part. The main aim of the competition was for them to develop their critical skills and to recognize the importance of mathematics in everyday reality.

Partcipants were given 1 hour and 30 minutes to answer 25 multiple-choice questions. A total of 299 students of the Schools and other private and public schools participated in the competition.
