On Sunday, February 25, 2024, the 22nd Open Individual School Chess Championship of the Educational Region of Eastern Thessaloniki 2024 took place at the premises of the Municipal Theater of Kalamaria "Navarchos Votsis". In this Championship, the students of the Schools M. - K. Skodras (2nd Gymnasium) gained distinctions, securing the 3rd place in the overall ranking of their category and the bronze medal, and A. Nikaki (1st Gymnasium) securing the 1st place among the girls of her category.
Also, on Sunday, March 3, 2024, the corresponding Championship for the Educational Region of Western Thessaloniki took place on the premises of the 2nd Gymnasium of Polichni. In this event, our students O. Hasiotis (2nd Gymnasium) gained distinctions, securing the 3rd place in the overall ranking of their category and the bronze medal, and A. Sklavou (2nd Gymnasium) securing the 3rd place among the girls of her category.
These students thus advance to the Individual Interregional Championship of Thessaloniki - Chalkidiki, which will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, on the premises of the 2nd Gymnasium of Polichni.
